Commentary
At the Last Supper, Jesus deliberately used the language of Jeremiah 31 when he took the cup. The Old Covenant was sealed with the blood of animals (Exodus 24:8); the New Covenant is sealed with the blood of Christ. The Hebrews letter (chapters 8-10) provides the most extensive commentary on this fulfillment.
