Commentary
The title "Branch" (Tsemach in Hebrew) is a technical messianic title used by multiple prophets (Isaiah 11:1; Jeremiah 23:5; 33:15; Zechariah 3:8; 6:12). Jesus's self-identification as "the Root and the Offspring of David" in Revelation 22:16 is a direct claim to be this Branch.
