Commentary
The twelve loaves of the Bread of the Presence, perpetually before God in the Tabernacle, were a type of Christ who is the true bread from heaven. Jesus's "I am the bread of life" discourse in John 6 draws on this imagery, and the breaking of bread at the Last Supper connects to the Passover and the Eucharist.
